POST 17 — If you want to fix something specific

Most people come to this with one problem rather than a general interest in longevity. Here’s where to look.

To reduce joint pain, and heal tendons and ligaments

First figure out which problem you have, because they aren’t the same. Tendon and ligament issues like tendinitis, an old injury that never resolved, a rotator cuff problem for the past two years, are soft tissue, and soft tissue is exactly what these were studied on. Osteoarthritis is different, it’s cartilage loss, a harder target. Peptides may reduce the inflammation and pain around an arthritic joint, but nobody has shown they regrow cartilage.

BPC-157 and TB-500 together — the Wolverine pairing — is the standard approach for soft tissue (muscles, tendons and ligaments) and has the most research behind it. BPC-157 drives blood supply into tissue that’s poorly vascularized to begin with, which is why tendons heal so slowly. TB-500 moves repair cells into position. The Achilles research, which showed a fully repaired achilles tendon in mice, doesn’t happen at all on its own, and is the strongest animal data in this guide.

KLOW is great if inflammation is a part of the picture, which is good for chronic joint pain. KLOW contains the two above, plus KPV and Ghkcu. Same repair peptides as above, plus KPV to control inflammation and GHK-Cu rebuilding collagen — which is what tendons, ligaments, and cartilage matrix are made of. People love this combo.

Skin, hair, and collagen

GHK-Cu, by far! This is the best-evidenced compound in the guide for this purpose, with actual human clinical data behind it — improved skin density, thickness, and firmness over twelve weeks, outperforming vitamin C and retinoic acid for collagen stimulation in at least one trial. For hair it prolongs the growth phase, enlarges follicles, and acts as a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, the same mechanism as finasteride.

Topical creams or serum available for skin and scalp. Or use the KLOW combo to inject, if you want the collagen effect alongside repair.

Energy, workouts, and metabolic function

MOTS-c is the one, and it’s underrated. Mitochondrial peptide, activates AMPK, improves insulin sensitivity and glucose use in muscle. The effects in animal studies were described as resembling what you’d see from increased exercise.

5-Amino-1MQ for the NAD+ side and the energy that comes with it. This one can be oral or injectable. It’s orange.

Retatrutide also adds to energy and better metabolic function, because it helps the liver burn fat for energy, when you run out of glucose for energy, your body switches over to fat burning, and this adds to your workout. Retatrutide is close to FDA approval under Lilly’s patent, so it is  disappearing from the market. Unfortunately when it is available through Lilly, it will be exorbitantly expensive. Like at least 10X as much. And even Biolongevity labs no longer sells it, but you can find it out there still sold by some reputable companies.
